Father, I come to you today knowing that your mercies are new every morning. I am a new creation in you; the old has passed, and the new has come (2 Cor. 5:17).
I thank you that I can come to you just as I am to your throne of grace. And when I come to you, I am met with love and kindness. It’s your love and kindness that lead me to repentance.
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we desperately need you in our church — in our local church and the church worldwide. We want to look like you, Jesus. Forgive us for all of the ways we haven’t looked like you and loved like you.
Forgive us for letting pride, envy, partiality, anger, and bitterness get in the way of us loving one another. Forgive us for allowing things like worship preferences and political opinions to get in the way of us loving one another.
(Confess now to the Lord any other things that have gotten in the way of you and your church loving one another the way Jesus intended.)
We thank you for your mercy that triumphs over judgment. We receive your grace and your mercy and ask that you would pour out your spirit on us. We cannot love like you without you. And your love is the only answer.
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” (1 Peter 4:8)
Father, we also pray you would protect us from the evil one. In Jesus’ Name, we rebuke Satan and all of his attempts to wreak havoc in our church body. He has no power over us and must flee in the mighty name of Jesus! Jesus, we ask you to make us a church ready for you and your return - pure and holy!
Make us ONE so that when the world looks at us, they will see the FAMILY of God — brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers who love each other deeply.
We know all of this is your heart’s desire, and we are expectant that you are going to move in our church.
We give you all the glory!
Thank You for calling me to contend in prayer with You for spiritual renewal in every heart, home, church, and region. Pour out Your Spirit, Lord Jesus, I pray, awakening the lost to faith, readying Your church to join You in Your mission and sending workers into the fields ripe for harvest.
