We CONTEND for our region O Lord!
We know the people here are hurting. They are wounded. They are tired. They are weary. They are weeping.
(In your region, think of recent events, or even personal encounters you’ve had, or things that you’ve seen where you know people are suffering, grieving, lacking wholeness and in need of healing.)
Mighty Messiah, HEAL our region. Please heal all of our hurting and wounded hearts. We ask you to heal in miraculous ways so that everyone knows it is YOU who are working, and bring your perfect peace.
Let it be a tangible PEACE that feels like a warm blanket.
FORGIVE our region, Father. We don’t know what we are doing. In our suffering, we often desire your wrath for those who aren’t like us, who don’t think the way we do or believe the way we do. We ALL are in sin. We ALL are wrong. We ALL need a savior. We ALL are desperate for your mercy and grace (…confess to the Father: grudges or unresolved hurt or anger you might have against others in your region).
Jesus, RECONCILE our region. Let your reconciliation fall upon all who are here (think about different neighborhoods, communities, or people groups near you who need reconciliation) and grant us compassion for one another (…ask Him to give you HIS heart for the region)!
Holy Spirit, we ask you to bring a gentle, cleansing, REFRESHING upon our region. Give us ALL the gift of green pastures. Lead us ALL up to still waters. Spirit, let EVERYONE here feel your soft, cool breeze. Some might recognize this wind; others might be surprised or confused. God Almighty, refresh our region in the tenderness of your presence (take time to breathe IN…breathe deeply…feel Him refresh and ask Him to share this all around!)
BE PRESENT IN OUR REGION O MIGHTY GOD. Be here, Lord. Stay here, Lord. Live here, Lord. Heal. Forgive. Reconcile our region to you Father, by sending your Son and by pouring out your Spirit, refreshing the entire region with hope, according to YOUR abundant mercy! According to YOUR steadfast love!
Thank You for calling me to contend in prayer with You for spiritual renewal in every heart, home, church, and this region. Pour out Your Spirit, Lord Jesus, awakening the lost to faith, readying Your church to join You in Your mission and sending workers into the fields ripe for harvest.
