10.05.15 "The Breath of God Breathes LIFE into Us!"

Dear God, Creator of heaven and earth, In the book of James it is written, "Come near to God and he will come near to you".  Lord, for this very reason I am intentionally taking time away from my busy life so that I can spend time with you.  I love you, Jesus!  I love you, Jesus!  I love you, Jesus!  I want to be with you, wherever you are and wherever you are moving.  I want to walk with you and to hear your voice.  Heavenly Father, please help me set aside every other concern and care right now so that I can focus on you, your Word, and what you are saying to me.  I love you, Jesus.  Amen!

Genesis 2:7, 21 - 25

Then the Lord God formed a man[a] from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs[a] and then closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib[b] he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

23 The man said,

“This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”

24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.

25 Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.

Intimacy.  Talk about intimacy; you can't get much more intimate than this!  We have a God who is not content with being merely close to us or near us.  Our God gets INSIDE of us.  His breath came into Adam's nostrils and filled his lungs.  God's breath inside of Adam gave him life.  That's the picture we get of God creating Adam and Eve.

But God's intimacy with mankind did not stop at Creation; it has continued throughout the generations to this very day.  God's Spirit moves in us and through us, and it gives us LIFE today, just like it did with Adam and Eve when the world was created.

As you go through the rhythms of your day, think about the fact that God's Spirit is in you.  He fills your mind, your heart, your soul, and your lungs.  Remember that God is always waiting for us, ready to listen, ready to act, and ready to love.

May you feel the Spirit of God dwelling in you richly today!
