Lord God Almighty! We pray to you because we get scared. We get scared and worry that those who are running from you will be lost forever. We get scared because some people keep you at arm’s length. We get scared because some of the lost are our loved ones!
Remind us again of your heart:
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” —Luke 19:10
This is your mission. This is your heart. For you, ALL of the lost are your loved ones. All of the lost sheep are the ONE, for whom you leave the NINETY-NINE to go rescue.
Fill our hearts with this truth, O Holy Spirit; keep reminding us of who you are every day when we get scared.
“If God is for us, who can be against us?” –Romans 8:31
Please replace that fear with the truth, and the comfort and hope that it provides: The Word of God promises us that all of your energy and purpose has been put into the task of saving the lost. This is why you call yourself our SAVIOR!
And remind us also of what your Word teaches us about how you do these types of things:
“Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts.” —Zechariah 4:6.
So we come again to you with a relentlessness that you give us to CONTEND in prayer for the Lost! Pour out your Spirit upon your people to be witnesses to all of the lost in our lives.
Give us a heart like yours where we see lost sheep, not unclean sinners.
Give us a heart like yours where we see sheep without a shepherd instead of foolish or stubborn people.
Give us a heart like yours where we see ALL lost people as OUR loved ones.
And then, Holy Spirit, fill us again with your presence so that we are witnesses of your sending, loving, saving heart so that through us you would rescue the lost, awaken the lost, heal the lost, and bring them home.
We ask this in the Name of the Son of Man (pleading His very blood!) BECAUSE He came to seek and save the lost!
Thank You for calling me to contend in prayer with You for spiritual renewal in every heart, home, church, and this region. Pour out Your Spirit, Lord Jesus, awakening the lost to faith, readying Your church to join You in Your mission and sending workers into the fields ripe for harvest.
