Jesus,
We are Your Church, Your Body on earth, Your People, Your Witnesses to the world.
We are Your Church...whether gathered in our homes, in our congregations, across our region or throughout this world - all who confess Jesus as Lord and Savior are “Your Church”!
But we are a broken church!
At times we are a divided church, an apathetic church, an immature church, a “compromise the truth” church!
At times we can be a self-centered church, a sleeping church, an unloving church, an ungracious church.
Sometimes we are a “lost our first love” church, a distracted church, a prayerless church, a Spiritless church!
Oh Jesus... the list could go on and on!
We repent! We turn to you! Forgive us! Renew us! Lead us! That we might delight You and Your will to the glory of Your Holy Name!
Holy Trinity – Father, Son, Holy Spirit – we desperately need You to work overtime making us READY to follow You, Jesus, into the Future.
Jesus, do what it takes to READY us as Your chosen instrument bringing the message of hope and redemption to the world. We are not READY.... Make us READY!
Make us a united church, a zealous church, a mature church, a truth-filled church, a servant-hearted church, a vigilant church, an unconditionally loving church, a gracious church, an “in love with Jesus” church, a focused church, a praying church, a Spirit-filled church!
Lord Jesus, lead our leaders, shepherd our Shepherds, evangelize our evangelists.
Renew, Revive, Awaken influencers in the Body of Christ at all levels so that initiatives are taken, programs are planned, discipling is done, prayers are prayed, sacrifice is made, service is rendered, the Gospel is lived ... in such a way that Your Church is READY for what You want to do in us and through us as You bring revival across our land.
We pray, Jesus, that by Your Spirit at work within us, we might become the Church You dream us to be ...
“...built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone...... in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.....speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” (Ephesians 2 & 4)
Do it, Lord! Ready Your Church for Your Mission in Our World!
Thank You for calling me to contend in prayer with You for spiritual renewal in every heart, home, church, and this region. Pour out Your Spirit, Lord Jesus, awakening the lost to faith, readying Your church to join You in Your mission and sending workers into the fields ripe for harvest.
Amen
