What have we learned about “Beginning” anything?

·         Beginning “IN CHRIST” means more Joy and Hope with less Fear and Anxiety!

·         THE SECRET SAUCE: Convert your anxieties into prayers, add thanksgiving, and then receive Peace!”

·         MY MIND is led by what it’s fed ……. So feed it well!

Philippians 4  For I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength. 

The Secret of Being Content?           (…….. in any and every situation!)

“through HIM” -

“who gives me strength” -

“I can do all this” –

Our “through HIM” living is relentlessly dependent on God’s Word, my Prayers and His Spirit!

Philippians 4:6-7 “6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

My mind is led by what it’s fed! 

Romans 8 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

Beginning Well – Is there a secret?

Philippians 4:4-7
 4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.

Matthew 5 13 “You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world…  In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Philippians 3 … many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things. 20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ…

Philippians 3 7 But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8 What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. We are always beginning…….again!

How well do we do “Beginnings”?

Philippians 1:12-26

-          admit the reality of the past  

-          but totally trust Jesus in the present for the future!     That’s how I BEGIN!
      

What do I believe about Jesus? 

o   His Redemption, Restoration, Resurrection

o   His presence with me and purpose for me!
