Prayer for Inner Healing!

 Isaiah 61

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, 2 to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, 3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.

Our hearts (souls) are damaged, wounded, broken and LOVED!

Jesus came to heal and comes to heal our hearts!

Prayer is an incredible tool for inner heart healing!

 Mark 7 21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly.

 Galatians 5 19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like.

 Psalm 51 Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart.

 Ephesians 3  16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

The essence of prayer for inner heart healing is inviting Jesus to bring His presence, healing and love!

 Helpful prayer approach: (Moving Mountains p.194)

·         Invite the presence of Jesus into the wound or broken-ness (Ask for His help! Sometimes it is helpful to “follow the pain”)

·         Forgive those involved in the wounding (self and others)

·         Renounce the message, the lie, breaking any agreement with it as well as any sin involved!

·         Invite the presence and healing love of God into the wound or brokenness!

 Psalm 23  The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. 3 He restores my soul.
